ARLINGTON HEIGHTS — State Senator Mark Walker helped secure more than $28,000 in library grants for five public school districts across the 27th Senate District.
“We must encourage students to expand their knowledge beyond the classroom,” said Walker (D-Arlington Heights). “Securing necessary resources for our school libraries will ensure our students are well-equipped and prepared for the future.”
The funds are part of $1.3 million distributed through the Illinois Secretary of State’s School District Library Grant Program. The grants will help 2,484 K-12 public school libraries across Illinois provide books, e-books, technology, multilingual materials and more for students.
Five school districts in the 27th Senate District received a total of $28,338:
- Arlington Heights School District 25 – $4,168
- Township High School District 214 –$10,584
- Mount Prospect School District 57 – $1,728
- Prospect Heights School District 23 – $1,127
- Township High School District 211 – $10,732
